U9, U10, U12, U14 BOYS AND GIRLS
- The duration of the match shall be 2 – 25 minute halves. The referee will keep the time on the field.
- 8 v 8, goalkeeper and 7 field players.
- The home team listed first on the schedule wears red jerseys, the away team wears white. All players are encouraged to bring both colors to games. The home team is responsible for the game ball. The home team is on the north or west sideline, away team is on the south or east sideline. Parents must stay with their team and no one is allowed behind the goal or on the goal line.
- All players should expect to play 50% of game.
- The playing field is 50 yards by 80 yards with goal boxes and penalty areas. The goal is 7 ft. by 21 ft.
- A “re-take” or second throw-in is not allowed as in the younger age groups. Players should be taught proper throw-in techniques.
- Goal kicks may be taken from anywhere in the goal area and the ball may not be played by either team until the ball is outside the penalty area lines.
- Corner kicks are as usual.
- Substitutions are as follows: On any dead ball.
- Although the referee records scores, emphasis should be placed on learning and playing for the love of the game. Encouraging great play by both teams is very important. The 4 goal “mercy rule” is in effect that allows for a player to be added by the team who is behind by four goals.
- The referee will both officiate and instruct players as an extension of the coaches.
- All other FIFA Laws of the game are in effect.
