Guide for Parents
Player Placement at Pride
This is the standard we are building toward as a club.It won’t be perfect.
There will be challenges. But this approach moves us beyond isolated decisions, toward consistently placing players in the right environment for their development and growth.

Our Objective & Standard
We place players based on their full journey, not a single moment.
We consider growth over time, team impact, readiness for challenge, and character.
Our focus: build environments where players can grow.
Conviction → Commitment → Connection
We believe in the process, act with consistency, and align words with actions —
because trust is built over time through consistency.
Playing Up
Most players will compete in their age group.
Some may move up if they consistently perform at a higher level and show readiness.
Our goal: the best environment for development
How Decisions Are Made
Placement is built through consistent, collaborative evaluation:
- Over Time: No player is defined by one moment
- Together: Coaches and leadership align on every decision
- In the Game: Players are observed in real environments
- Holistically: We consider performance, habits, mindset, and potential
Opportunity Mindset
Placement is not the reward, it’s the platform.
Opportunities come from:
- Daily habits
- Consistent performance
- Impact on teammates
We value players who:
Compete. Learn. Elevate others.
What This Means for You
- Players are evaluated over time
- Coaches work together, not in silos
- Families are informed and included
- The club grows as one connected community
How Parents Can Support
You play a key role in your child’s development:
- Focus on growth over time, not single moments
- Reinforce effort, decisions, and resilience
- Trust the process and environment
- Encourage ownership and responsibility
What We Value (Age & Stage)
- Across all ages, we evaluate player impact in possession, out of possession, and in transitions, alongside their physical, psychological, and social behaviors. As players develop, the focus evolves—from energy, bravery, and curiosity (U9–U10), to building habits and understanding (U11–U12), to consistency and ownership (U13), to execution and adaptability (U14–U16), and ultimately to performance and leadership (U17+).
The Bigger Picture: This is more than placement.
It’s how we develop:
- Better players
- Better teammates
- Better people
Not just where they play, but how they grow.
