Goalkeeper Academy – Recreational and Junior Academy

This academy is designed to give players and introduction into basic goalkeeping techniques and principles. The program is technically based and designed to give new and younger goalkeepers and look into the expectations and requirements for the goalkeeper position.  See Schedule & Locations tab below for full details.

Teams and Ages

These sessions are developed for ages U5-10, boys and girls. If your Recreational goalkeeper is over the age of 10, please contact our Director of Goalkeeping, Dave Meyer at dmeyer@pridesoccer.com. 

Schedule & Locations

April 1st – May 10 

Jr. Academy & Recreational Goalkeeper Training Sessions: (Boys & Girls) will be located at the Pride Soccer Complex field 2N Wednesdays from 4:30 pm-5:15 pm (All players 10 and under Jr. Academy & Recreational are invited).

Any interested goalkeepers who are over the age of 10, should email Dave Meyer at dmeyer@pridesoccer,com regarding training opportunities.

Additional Opportunities

Pride goalkeepers will have a minimum of one age group-based session a week with the opportunity to attend additional sessions.  Goalkeepers will have the opportunity to attend higher-level sessions as they show the desire and ability of proficiency in age-level topics.

If you haven’t been added to a goalkeeper TeamSnap yet, please contact our Director of Goalkeeping, Dave Meyer, at dmeyer@pridesoccer.com. That’s how we communicate updates to our players with weather updates and cancelations. So please send him your player’s current team, the email address that he can use, phone number, and your player’s name.

What is the purpose of the Goalkeeper Academy?

The PRIDE Recreational Goalkeeper Academy is designed to give players and introduction into basic goalkeeping techniques and principles. The program is technically based and designed to give new and younger goalkeepers and look into the expectations and requirements for the goalkeeper position.

What does the Goalkeeper Academy focus on?

There will be a combination of technical sessions with games inspired to spark the interest of young goalkeepers. The combination of the technical and tactical aspects of goalkeeping will provide our PRIDE goalkeepers with the foundation and the building blocks for goalkeepers to learn and progress within the training and the game itself.

How often does the Goalkeeper Academy meet?

PRIDE goalkeepers will have a minimum of one age group-based session a week with the opportunity to attend extra sessions. Goalkeepers will have the opportunity to attend the higher-level session as they show the desire and ability of proficiency in age-level topics.
