U13-19 Girls
Girls ECNL-RL Program
The Girls ECNL-RL was developed as an extension of the ECNL, which was founded in 2009. While the ECNL was established in 2009 for girls, the Regional League was created to provide a structured, high-level competition pathway below the top ECNL level.
Purpose: Created to improve the daily environment for elite players and offer a bridge to the top-tier ECNL.
Structure: Operates as a secondary, regionalized competition structure to provide more opportunities to develop.
Growth: While ECNL began in 2009, the Regional League structure expanded to support both boys’ and girls’ platforms across the U.S. in subsequent years to meet demand for competitive soccer.

Common Questions
What will the format of the tryout look like?
We’ll do a combination of technical exercises, small-sided games, and full-field scrimmages in order to determine the technical ability of all of the players and suitability for each team.
How will the players be evaluated?
Players will be evaluated on their technical abilities, as well as, their decision making capabilities and physical attributes.
How will the players be grouped?
The players are divided into groups based on their current teams and ongoing evaluations throughout the year. There will be movement from group to group during the three day tryout based on each player’s individual performance level.
Do the players need to be at all three nights of the tryout?
Ideally yes. While we evaluate players as much as possible throughout the year, the coaches need to make comparisons in our own controlled environment. There are also a number of players new to the club who come to tryouts every year. Players will be selected on merit and not necessarily according to where they have played previously. If your child can only make it to one night or not at all, please contact the appropriate Director listed below.
Is there really any need for a tryout?
Yes. While we evaluate players as much as possible throughout the year, the coaches need to make comparisons in our own controlled environment. There are also a number of players new to the club who come to tryouts every year. Players will be selected on merit and not necessarily according to where they have played previously.
When will the teams be formed and when should I expect a phone call?
While it is a one day tryout, we will form our rosters as soon as possible during the process so that everyone receives a phone call in a timely fashion.
Do I have to accept the offer of placement and how long do I have to decide?
Offers are made based on what we deem to be the most appropriate environment for your player’s development in order to reach his/her full potential. You do not have to accept the offer, however, placement will then be made on a lower level team. If you need time to think things over, we invite you to do so though you may be given a time frame for an answer since other players’ notification could be pending on your decision.
Parental Involvement at the tryouts
Parents will be asked to sit away from the field during the tryouts. We will not have parents sit by the side of the field as we need to be able to communicate directly with the players without them being distracted.
How do Pride’s teams differ?
Each age group has a hierarchy of teams ranging in competitive level. Competition and travel depend on the level of team with the higher level teams (Champions League) traveling to out of state tournaments, as well as, in state. Centennial League teams typically stay in state for tournaments at the younger ages but may travel out of state as they get older. Team disclosure forms, which detail time and monetary commitment, will be available prior to tryouts.
How many players will there be on each roster?
Roster sizes differ from team to team as we seek to find the most appropriate spot for each player. Teams in the U13 – U19 age groups will carry an appropriate number of players due to the 11v11 format, injuries and the higher demands as players get older.
Can my child play multiple sports/High School Soccer?
Yes!!! It is a popular myth that Pride players cannot have multiple commitments or play several sports. We have world class athletes on some of our older Predator teams at the moment. Those teams require great commitment, but we feel that well-rounded athletes can contribute significantly to our program. We will not discourage players from sampling what is out there. Players and parents, alike, should simply communicate with the coach ahead of time and work together to ensure a positive experience for all concerned.
Players in the ECNL program can also take part in High School soccer in addition to remaining on an ECNL roster. During the High School season, Pride’s ECNL teams will continue to train on a weekly basis, including Sundays, on which day participation is expected.
